Nercha Kanji (നേർച്ചകഞ്ഞി)

In our Sacred Shrine, nourishment takes the form of a humble gruel crafted from rice and the essence of coconut peels. As we partake in this ritual sustenance, we recognize that when one’s physical hunger finds solace, it paves the way for a harmonious union of body and spirit, guiding us toward a more virtuous and spiritually enriched existence.

The sacred ritual food is lovingly served six times on all Wednesdays, following the Holy Mass, Novena and Adoration. This nourishing tradition is made possible through the generous financial support of our devoted community members. Devotees have the opportunity to contribute either for a single serving (Rs 3000/-) or for the all servings of Wednesday’s offerings (Rs 20,000/-).

Just as the Lord’s blessings overflow through this sacred ritual food, let our hearts, filled with the divine love that nourishes our souls, overflow with love and generosity towards one another. In sharing this humble sustenance, we also remember those who hunger, both in body and spirit, and aspire to be instruments of God’s grace in alleviating both physical and spiritual hunger.

“In the true spirit of Christian love and unity, our church extends its helping hand to the needy and underprivileged families in our vicinity. Monthly, we provide them with essential groceries and household necessities, transcending religious boundaries and embracing all in need. This compassionate outreach is made possible through the generous financial support of our devoted community members.

As we join together in this sacred mission, let us be reminded of the profound message in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” In these humble acts of kindness and generosity, we embody the teachings of Christ, who calls us to share His love and sustenance with all who seek solace and nourishment within the shelter of these hallowed walls.

Your contributions not only nourish our bodies but also symbolize the enduring love and compassion that bind us as a loving and united community. Together, we reflect the divine light within our hearts and extend it to brighten the lives of those in need, echoing the boundless grace of our Lord.”
